Gratitude journal
three good things

Tigre and Villanelle

Delighted with this wacky painting of a tigre by Millie McCallum, which I found in a pop-up gallery in Helmsley this morning. The gallery is the brainchild of Millie Seligman who created Hobby Horse Arts. She avoids high overheads and is able to give more cash back to the artist by hiring vacant premises on short term lets so avoiding rent, rates and overheads. She also promotes artist through her low cost online shop. She specialises in ‘less conventional’ artists, so her gallery and website tend to be a blaze of colour and the unconventional.

Grateful to Millie McCallum for brightening up the weekend and for Millie Seligman for having the energy and drive to support artists by being just a little bit different (and for being in Helmsley at the weekend when I am usually not).

Grateful to Luke Jennings for inventing Villanelle and for Phoebe Waller-Bridge for writing the first television series. Coincidentally, I finished the second book this afternoon and we finished the first season and started the second this evening. Well worth the read / watch.

A Gratitude Journal is just a simple way of
recording and appreciating the good things in life.

Research shows that keeping a gratitude journal leads to
higher levels of alertness, happiness and positive emotions as well as
a stronger immune system, lower blood pressure and better sleep.
