Grateful to Alex for his occasional stories of strange folk at the pub. A couple come in and sit down at a table next to each other. When Alex asks for their food order the lady tells him her husband will have chicken and leak pie (without the pastry). She goes on to say her husband is highly allergic to fish and can Alex please make sure there is no contact in the kitchen with fish and that her husband’s food is uncontaminated by fish of any kind. Alex assures her he will do, writing it boldly on the order. Alex then asks her what she will have. Without faltering she answers ‘fish and chips’.

Joined Revolut digital banking today. Thrilled with the onboarding process, which took less than 15 minus to set up and complete transactions in a brand new bank account. Compared to the weeks it used to take, and even days it can still take with conventional banks, this was a joy. Grateful to the guys at Revolut who understand their clients and have the energy and intelligence to design a product that works so well.

Grateful for the rain of the last few days. Not much, but at least something after a near rainless April.
