Gratitude journal
Three good things

Nov 11, 2022 | Gratitude

Kingfisher

I saw a kingfisher today as I was running along the Riccal. They are so rare. I have only ever seen the bird three times in my life, once years ago driving along the beck in Gilling, once four years ago on the Rye – and today.

So grateful to see this bird, if only a flash of blue (I couldn’t take a photograph, so I borrowed one from Vincent van Zalinge on Unsplash). The sight is restorative, and makes you realise that the natural world is still there, vibrant and alive.

A Gratitude Journal is just a simple way of
recording and appreciating the good things in life.

Research shows that keeping a gratitude journal leads to
higher levels of alertness, happiness and positive emotions as well as
a stronger immune system, lower blood pressure and better sleep.
