Eat, sleep, work, repeat. Are you going around in circles?

Sep 8, 2024 | Insights

Don’t take it lying down. Reflect on your situation and identify the vicious and virtuous circles that make your life what it is today.
I’ve often found myself going around in circles.

They can be small circles, such as trying to organise a trip to Italy for three of us who will be coming from different destinations at different times but returning to the same place at the same time. It’s more challenging than you might think.

And don’t talk about buying and selling a property and the roundabout of withdrawn offers and failed bids.

In coaching situations, I’ve met clients with so many financial balls in the air that they keep going around in circles. Coaching has helped break the cycle.

You need help to break the circle.

But these are the stuff of life, to be accepted, dealt with or endured.

The bigger picture is different. My journey through adult life started with a vicious spiral of shame, fear, and self-centredness and turned into a virtuous circle of wealth, impact, and meaning.

Unlike the examples above, which were essentially practical, I went through a seismic change of heart and mind. It was a big ask, and it took outside help to break the vicious circle and build a new cycle of wealth, impact and meaning.

That help came from friends, colleagues and a spiritual reawakening. This was before coaching was everyday, and I hope life coaching today would have the same result and faster.

Are you trapped in an eternal destructive circle?

I would say I was in a good place today, and the virtuous circle of wealth, impact, and meaning serves me well. Over the next few weeks, I will explore the elements of this virtuous circle here on this platform.

Your journey probably differs from mine, but I would be surprised if you haven’t been trapped in a destructive cycle of feelings and behaviours. If you are in such a cycle, the framework for change I will show you will help, even if your destination is different.

In the meantime, reflect on your situation and identify the vicious and virtuous circle that makes your life what it is today.

ABOUT

I work with ambitious, family-oriented professionals transitioning to independent consultants to create a 3 to 5-year holistic plan so that they grow wealthy, make a difference and find meaning.

My clients are aged 35-50. They are in a long-term relationship with family and parents who are supportive but ageing. They wrestle with personal and financial responsibilities and dream of more control, wealth, time and purpose.

If this excites you, you are coachable, willing to change, and want to stop going around in circles, then find out more at jeremydeedes.com
